Biography
Leema Industries’ Founder and Chief Executive Officer Abie Kgomongwe is a young and dynamic Technologist who has pushed numerous frontiers in the 11 years that he has been in the industry. He earned a BTECH: Telecommunications Engineering at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT). He also attained key industry recognised certificates including the ITIL – Service Operation (IT Service Management), CoBiT-IT Governance, Prince2 Practitioner-Project Management, MySQL and Togaf-Enterprise Architecture. From University, Kgomongwe joined Telkom where he gained vast experience in telecommunications.
Working as a VSat Network Surveillor based at the National Network Operating Centre, he was responsible for the Network Management System used to monitor and diagnose network performance and troubleshoot faults. Kgomongwe took his experience from Telkom to the North West Department of Health where he worked as a Clinical Engineering Technologist charged with the maintenance and calibration of all medical equipment, routine inspection, training of clinical staff, Stats and Inventory management. He then joined the Rustenburg Municipality as Head: IT, a position that he held for seven years. He was initially at the helm of planning, organising, control and evaluation of IT and electronic data operations. It was his responsibility to design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures. He was also tasked with ensuring that security of data, network access and backup systems act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy.
